Tennants Consolidated Ltd is an international chemicals and materials group with a heritage dating back to 1797, when Charles Tennant pioneered a breakthrough bleaching process that transformed the textile industry and established the company as the world’s largest chemical manufacturer of its time. Today, the Group remains majority family-owned and operates as a diversified, multi-business co-ordinated conglomerate comprising highly autonomous divisions of varying scale and complexity.
The Group’s activities are organised into five operational divisions: Chemical Manufacturing, Chemical Distribution, Colours and Pigments, Roads and Construction and Mining Chemical Production. These divisions operate through a network of manufacturing sites, distribution depots, and joint ventures across ten countries, including major facilities in the UK, Ireland, Italy, India, China, Brazil, Canada, and the United States. This footprint supports extensive product ranges including formaldehyde, resins, organic pigments, mining reagents, building products, fertiliser packaging, and chemical distribution services.
